Top 3 LLMs: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude

The Difference Between The Top 3 LLMs:

ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude

With last year’s Sam Altman drama of will-he-or-won’t-he continue as CEO of OpenAI, the company he founded that made ChatGPT, was ousted from and rejoined, we learned that diversifying our LLM sources is going to be key in this unsteady, rapidly changing field.

LLMs are large language models. LLMs are pretrained on large amounts of text. So they can then predict the probability of a word or a sequence of words based on everything they've previously read.

Here are the top 3:

GPT-4omni:

  • Pros: More advanced training and creative responses, wide integrations.

  • Price: Free (basic), $20/month (premium)

  • Focus: Creativity and Integration.

Gemini(by Google):

  • Pros: Google resources and integration, clear sourcing, conversational.

  • Price: Free (basic), $20/month (premium)

    Focus: Accessibility and Transparency.

Claude(Amazon):

  • Pros: Amazon acquisition and investment, accurate image-to-text transcription.

  • Price: Free (limited), $20/month (premium)

  • Focus: Education and Safety.

While 95% of companies adopting LLMs use OpenAI’s ChatGPT, there are other options in the game. Like Claude by Anthropic, recently acquired by Amazon.

Or Google’s Gemini, previously known as Bard. Google DeepMind is catching a lot of flack for not pioneering this technology sooner. They were leaders in AI (btw when you type into the Google.com search box and it auto-completes your sentence, that’s AI). Then OpenAI swooped in, lured the best minds, and got funding from Microsoft.

Who could have predicted that in 2023, freaking BING would have killed Google and left the little-blue-link search model dead in the dust?
